Signalment: 9 years old, Female Spayed, Miniature Schnauzer
Presenting Complaint: The patient was presented as an emergency with profound respiratory difficulty.
Presenting History

The owners noticed that dyspnea had developed the night prior to admission. The patient was lethargic with a slight cough, but the main concern was its labored breathing. The morning of the admission, the patient collapsed which the clients noted had not happened in months. A physical exam was conducted and the following abnormalities were found: left sided pansystolic heart murmur with a grade of 5/6 with the PMI (point of maximum intensity) over the left apex of the heart and a right sided heart murmur with a grade of 5/6 and the PMI over the middle of the right side. There were also some rare, short pauses in the heart rate. Crackles were noted on auscultation of both lungs.
