Signalment: 3 years old, Male Castrated, Domestic Longhair
Presenting Complaint: He presented to the VTH for cardiac evaluation (he had a previously detected heart murmur). At the time he was asymptomatic for heart disease.
Presenting History

On physical examination, he was bright and alert. Mucous membrane colour and capillary refill were normal. Auscultation revealed a grade 4-5/6 harsh right mid-chest systolic murmur (heard on left as well but PMI on right), and regular rhythm. Lung sounds were normal, femoral pusles were good. Abdominal palpation unremarkable.

The owners were aware that he had a heart murmur when he was adopted from the Toronto Humane Society one month previously. At time of adoption there was also an ongoing respiratory infection, which was being treated with antibiotics (type unknown). Prior to adoption his history was unknown.

At time of presentation, he was on no medications. He was very energetic at home. He had a great appetite and was drinking well.
